CONSULTING

Product sustainability information

Prepare sustainability information for product listings.

Discuss product footprints, labels and evidence preparation in the context of Amazon Climate Pledge Friendly requirements.

Check applicable requirements

Product, market and recognized certification pathways affect evidence needs. Review current rules before proceeding.

Prepare product evidence

Organize footprint assessments, labels and supporting documents for accurate product communication.

Separate responsibilities

Consulting or a carbon label does not automatically establish Amazon eligibility. Relevant platforms and certification schemes determine recognition.

Review the product and market before choosing a route

Amazon Climate Pledge Friendly uses recognized sustainability certifications to help shoppers identify relevant products. Preparation depends on the product, sales market and currently accepted route; any certificate described as low carbon is not automatically sufficient. Carbonstop can discuss footprint, label and evidence work, identifying the gap between available records and the chosen pathway before calculation begins. Eligibility and display outcomes remain decisions of the relevant platform and certification mechanism.

Map evidence to the actual models

Begin with products, models and variants, sales markets, existing certificates and listing identifiers. Check the certificate issuer, product coverage and applicable conditions. Footprint materials need the correct product version and life-cycle boundary. Mapping these records reveals which documents concern the company and which actually cover the product being considered. A corporate report or evidence for another model should not be assumed to support the current listing without checking its scope.

Connect footprint work to product improvements

Where the selected certification route needs footprint and reduction evidence, organize materials, manufacturing, energy, packaging, transport and use records before confirming the method and boundary. Improvements need corresponding records: design or material changes require a documented comparison basis. Carbonstop's accounting and label services can support relevant preparation, but acceptance of a company-issued label under the chosen platform pathway needs a separate check. It should not be presumed from the existence of the label.

Separate certification from platform steps

The scope can include product diagnosis, a route-specific evidence checklist, accounting preparation and information consistency checks. Certification assessment, platform submission and listing display are different stages with different owners. Commercial, product and operations teams can share a register while confirming product facts, calculation evidence and listing information. Consulting focuses on preparing those records. It does not promise platform display, a sales outcome or recognition of a certificate that has not been checked.

Maintain the link between records and products

Changes in formulation, materials, manufacturing sites or models can make earlier evidence inconsistent with the current listing. Retain certificate coverage, product versions and update responsibilities so operations teams can review later changes. Bring existing certificates, specifications, listings and target markets to discuss the work. Identify the evidence needed for plausible pathways before selecting a pilot product, directing the accounting effort towards a defined business requirement rather than preparing an unrelated report.

PREPARE THE CONVERSATION

A useful starting point
for the discussion.

Start with available records and a list of gaps. Agree on scope and outputs after reviewing the actual situation.

FAQ

Questions before you decide.

Does a product footprint report secure the badge?

No. It can provide product information, but Climate Pledge Friendly depends on the currently recognized pathway and its conditions. Review certification eligibility and platform steps separately; a footprint report is not itself evidence that the product qualifies.

Can one certificate cover every product variant?

Check its scope and scheme rules against the variants' materials, specifications and production. Sharing a listing does not establish that every variant is covered. Keep a clear relationship between each product and the evidence that applies to it.

Should we calculate first or choose a certification route?

Start with the product, market and potential route to define the evidence need. If accounting is required, then agree on boundaries, records and review. This avoids producing a report that has the wrong scope or no relevance to the chosen route.
