CONSULTING
Carbon labels & review preparation
Make product carbon information visible.
Product Carbon Footprint and Product Carbon Reduction labels connect accounting and reduction evidence with product communication.
Carbon Footprint Label
Review life-cycle accounting, product reductions and climate contributions through high-quality credits under the relevant protocol.
Carbon Reduction Label
Review accounting and reduction evidence against a previous product version or an appropriate benchmark scenario.
Independence and impartiality
Separate certification decisions from report preparation, consulting and first-line verification for the same project. Projects involving report preparation require independent third-party verification or assurance.
Choose a label supported by the product evidence
Carbonstop provides Product Carbon Footprint and Product Carbon Reduction labels and certification services. The first connects full-life-cycle accounting, reductions and climate contributions through high-quality credits. The second concerns reductions against a previous product version or appropriate benchmark scenario. Start with the product, model, purpose and available records before preparing the applicable protocol's materials. The evidence should determine the conclusion that can be communicated, rather than a promotional claim determining what documents are assembled.
Prepare the footprint-label evidence
The process includes an applicable full-life-cycle footprint report, a product-level reduction plan with implementation and actual results, and climate contributions for remaining emissions through high-quality credits. The report needs product function, unit, life-cycle boundary, data and methods. Reduction actions and credit use need corresponding records. Together these stages form the review evidence. Holding a footprint report alone does not establish that the product has completed the label-certification process or received a decision.
Make reduction comparisons credible
A reduction label examines the product against a previous version or an appropriate benchmark scenario. Preparation needs the basis for the benchmark, consistent function and boundaries, and evidence of how product changes reduced the footprint. Updated datasets or lower production should not be presented as product improvements. The report, reduction evidence and implementation plan need to agree. Multi-model applications also need clear coverage so the comparison and certificate refer to identifiable products.
Separate preparation from certification decisions
Materials are submitted through Ccloud's product carbon-label certification module. The Carbonstop Research Institute certification team reviews them under the relevant protocol and makes the decision. Personnel involved in reporting, consulting or first-line verification cannot decide certification for the same project. Projects with Carbonstop involvement in report preparation require independent third-party verification or assurance, checked by the certification team. These arrangements distinguish preparation services from the outcome of an independent certification decision.
Keep information traceable after certification
Following approval, the corresponding label and certificate are issued. Product introductions, procurement materials and customer communication should maintain consistent products, versions, boundaries and comparison bases. Material or manufacturing changes require attention to whether earlier evidence still applies. Preparation can begin with accounting reports, reduction records, credit-use evidence and assurance documents, identifying remaining gaps. A label explains supported product information; it should not be extended into a general claim about every product or the entire company's activities.

FAQ
Questions before you decide.
How should we choose between the two labels?
The footprint label connects life-cycle accounting, reductions and climate contributions under its protocol. The reduction label focuses on improvement against a previous version or appropriate benchmark. The choice depends on evidence and purpose; their names do not make them interchangeable.
Does a Carbonstop-prepared report still need independent review?
Under the published impartiality arrangements, projects involving Carbonstop in report preparation require independent third-party verification or assurance and certification-team checks. Those involved in reporting, consulting or first-line verification cannot make the same project's certification decision.
Can the label be used as a company-wide certification?
It applies to the certified product and scope. A company can describe the work, but should not extend an individual product's result to all products or the whole business. Usage needs to remain consistent with the certificate and applicable protocol.
