Carbon Agent starts with the job you need done

A customer asks for the footprint of a product. The material list is in one file, energy figures are with the factory, and transport details are somewhere in an email. That's the kind of work Carbon Agent is built around: gathering the accounting steps into a task, with carbon data and specialist knowledge behind it. Carbonstop released the product on 30 June 2026. Its defining change is the Agent as the working interface. You describe the goal through a conversation; document handling, modeling and report preparation belong to that task rather than to a collection of unrelated menus.

What happens between a material list and a footprint?

Take a product with a material component, packaging and an assembly stage. The model needs to distinguish those processes, attach activity quantities and find relevant factors. Carbon Agent supports that sequence. It also makes the emission sources, factor choices and accounting logic available for review. There are questions a material list alone won't answer. Does its weight describe one finished item or a production batch? Does the energy record cover assembly only? Your team supplies those answers. The better those records describe the actual product, the more useful the resulting model becomes.

Why the database matters to an Agent

An AI can recognize a material name without knowing which production route made it. That is a serious difference in footprint work. Carbon Agent draws on carbon factor data and the industry's accounting knowledge, not just a general conversation with a language model. A reviewer can ask why a particular factor fits the activity. Its unit, geography, year and process boundary should make sense together. Where the product relies on a substitute dataset, keep that choice visible. Otherwise a later change in results may be impossible to explain.

Individual tasks and team requirements

The launch introduction describes individual and team editions. Carbon knowledge questions, emissions estimates and footprint report preparation sit alongside the modeling work. Team requirements may call for different service configurations, report functions or factor access. A consultant preparing several assessments and a product team answering an occasional buyer request won't necessarily need the same arrangement. Bring an example of the work you expect to repeat. It gives a more useful starting point for a demonstration than a list of broad ambitions, and lets the discussion address your documents and expected outputs.

A report is also a handover

The next person may be a colleague, a customer or an independent verifier. They need to see how the result was reached. Retain the product definition, activity records, factors and significant assumptions with the report. Carbon Agent emphasizes a process that can be traced and reviewed; professional checks then focus on the actual decisions in that process. If verification is part of the assignment, establish the evidence requirements before drafting the final report. The Agent prepares work. An independent institution makes its own verification decision.

FAQ

Questions before you decide.

Should I choose Carbon Agent or Ccloud?

For a specific footprint task, Carbon Agent's conversational approach is a useful point to discuss. Ccloud addresses continuing management across corporate, product and supply-chain scenarios. Describe how often you'll calculate, who provides the records and whether several sites need to participate. Those details help establish the appropriate product configuration.

What if my product records are incomplete?

Show what exists and identify what's missing. A material list with clear units is a good start, but production energy, output and transport may still need investigation. Don't fill the gaps with invented factory records. Discuss whether additional collection or a documented substitute is appropriate for the intended assessment.

Can a buyer use the report immediately?

Ask what the buyer requires: a data response, a footprint report or independently verified information. These are different deliverables. Review the model and supporting evidence against that request before handing it over. Report generation alone does not establish certification, and a buyer may request information beyond the report itself.
