On 24 December 2021, the resource and environment research branch of the China National Institute of Standardization and Carbonstop signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Beijing for green and low-carbon standardization research and database development.
The historical announcement listed technical research and pilots, standards development and application, data analysis, tools and databases, communication and training for priority industries. These were planned areas of cooperation, rather than proof that every output had already been completed.
The project planned China-specific emission-factor information for basic materials and representative products to support life-cycle environmental assessment. Geography, technology and energy structure are relevant considerations when selecting factors.
For businesses, local information helps assess applicability. Actual use still requires checks of source, reference year, units, technological relevance and accounting boundary. Historical database counts are not presented as current coverage totals.
